Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - timg - 10-08-2010 Giants - Braves ... classic NL playoff game. Very happy with the results, by the way. Re: Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - Trouble - 10-08-2010 As long as you are happy with the umps giving the giants the game, I guess that is ok. Re: Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - haikuman - 10-08-2010 It was a very good game. The Giants Pitcher was in a zone and thats what won the game for the Giants. Either team could have one. *(:>* Great Baseball ~!~ Re: Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - Racer X - 10-08-2010 get rid of the gloves, get rid of the helmets, and put spikes on the bats, and then we can talk. Why would anyone want to watch others exercise? Much less buy tickets. Re: Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - RgrF - 10-08-2010 Baseball has nothing to do with exercise (look at the gut on some of these guys), baseball is a game of acquired skill, adeptness and awareness. Re: Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - WHiiP - 10-08-2010 Pro Baseball died when Curt Flood became a "Free Agent" . . . College Baseball died with Aluminum bats . . . ![]() Are they still using wood bats in High School? :dunno: Re: Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - RgrF - 10-08-2010 Nope. High school grandson (most agile basketball player and schools fastest cross country runner) flails away helplessly at poorly thrown outside pitches -- all with an aluminum bat. On those few occasions he walks or gets hit by a pitch and makes first, watch out. He can't hit a lick but stole home five times last year. If you walk or hit him it's like an automatic double, he'll be on second by the third pitch. Too bad he can't actually hit. Start off with a pitch speed that he can hit decently until he hits almost every pitch that's decent. Then move up to the next speed. I know a guy that did this with his grandson when he was 8 (started off as a fun grandfather/grandson activity and the kid loved doing it). By the time the kid turned 10, he was hitting better than most of the 12 year olds on his team. Re: Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - RgrF - 10-08-2010 We've been down the batting cage road. He's 15 now and needs to decide where to put the emphasis, it'll probably be basketball but whatever he decides will be OK as long as he keeps up with studies. Re: Now that's what you call NL playoff baseball! - Speedy - 10-08-2010 Yes, keeping up with his studies is the most important thing at his age. RgrF wrote: |
