Mountain Dew Throwback - raz - 10-24-2010 I was out today and was grabbing a snack. The vendor had an odd looking can of Mountain Dew - almost looked 'Diet', but not quite. The label said 'Mountain Dew Throwback - made with real sugar'. Yum It is to Dew what Mexican Coke is to Coke. It's (supposedly) limited time only. Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - Doc - 10-24-2010 Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback were successful enough for the last two summers and consumer feedback was so strong that they decided to keep producing them indefinitely until consumer demand slacks off. ... Edit: They are also coming out with a sugared version of Sierra Mist, labeled "Natural." http://consumerist.com/2010/10/pepsi-giving-away-10-million-cans-of-sierra-mist-natural-this-weekend.html Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - Tofer - 10-24-2010 I'm glad to hear they're keeping them -- the Pepsi Throwback is pretty good. I only saw it once about two years ago in a 7-11, but I'm going to see if I can't find it somewhere now. -Tofer Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - Mac1337 - 10-25-2010 My son tried it but didn't particularly like it. Could it be that the new generation now considers real sugar tasting "weird"? Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - The UnDoug - 10-25-2010 Our Target here in Philadelphia routinely carries "Throwback" versions of all those sodas (there are several different kinds with "Throwback" versions). Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - DaviDC. - 10-25-2010 I can certainly taste the difference! Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - Bill in NC - 10-25-2010 IIRC, it is the old formula (not just cane instead of corn sugars) for the Mountain Dew 'retro' I didn't like the taste of the MD Throwback vs. modern MD. Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - MacArtist - 10-25-2010 I like the taste of MD Throwback. To me, modern Mountain Dew tastes too sweet. Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - WHiiP - 10-25-2010 "You" people need to just walk away for all your "soda" habits . . . that stuff'll kill you. :boink: Re: Mountain Dew Throwback - decay - 10-25-2010 MD throwback tastes better to me. i'm better off not keeping any on hand, though.... |
