Mountain Dew Throwback - raz - 10-24-2010
I was out today and was grabbing a snack. The vendor had an odd looking can of Mountain Dew - almost looked 'Diet', but not quite. The label said 'Mountain Dew Throwback - made with real sugar'.
Yum
It is to Dew what Mexican Coke is to Coke.
It's (supposedly) limited time only.

Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback were successful enough for the last two summers and consumer feedback was so strong that they decided to keep producing them indefinitely until consumer demand slacks off.

Edit: They are also coming out with a sugared version of Sierra Mist, labeled "Natural."

I'm glad to hear they're keeping them -- the Pepsi Throwback is pretty good. I only saw it once about two years ago in a 7-11, but I'm going to see if I can't find it somewhere now.

My son tried it but didn't particularly like it. Could it be that the new generation now considers real sugar tasting "weird"?

Our Target here in Philadelphia routinely carries "Throwback" versions of all those sodas (there are several different kinds with "Throwback" versions).

IIRC, it is the old formula (not just cane instead of corn sugars) for the Mountain Dew 'retro'
I didn't like the taste of the MD Throwback vs. modern MD.
