5% off at target ...... - JPK - 10-26-2010

Everyday with the new target credit or debit card.

I guess the target card I got to get 10% once is dead.

5% is 5%! We are big target customers at our house - this will help.

If you use it like a cash card and pay it off in full every month, the interest rate becomes irrelevant.

i wasn't able to do that, so i closed it.

5% off just makes tax 3.75% rather than 8.75%

Since we buy a lot of food there, savings might be minimal.

I shop at our SuperTarget a lot for things like shampoo, mouthwash, linens, some clothes, cat food, food, etc., so I can see the savings being a nice bonus. I am always going to use a credit card, and 5% is more than any of my cash back cards give me, so why not take the extra 4%. The only negative is that I will need to go to one more website to bill pay once a month, but that shouldn't be much of a hassle. If they ever drop the 5% off thing, I would probably go back to using one of my other cards.

so you pay your bills online by going to the sites individually? i pay all my online bills from my bank which makes it one stop. i only go to a site if i'm cutting the due date close and need the payment to post immediately.

using the bank has worked well for me with BOA and Wachovia. we'll see if the latter works as well now that it is officially Wells Fargo.

Yeah, I like to use the CC websites to pay my bills. I bank with a smaller bank, and while they do have online bill pay, their website is not that great, plus, I really like having the confirmation code from the CC company in case I ever have any issue with a payment not posting. It doesn't take very long at all to pay the bill, and I feel better about making sure they are acknowledging the payment.
