Oddball food recommendation: E.D. Smith Cherries 'n Berries preserves from Costco - rgG - 10-26-2010 I bought a jar of the E.D. Smith Cherries 'n Berries fruit spread at Costco. This stuff is delicious. I like cherry preserves, but they are sometimes hard to find and are usually more expensive than other flavors. I decided to try the Cherries 'n Berries a couple of weeks ago, and I am very glad I did. It is lightly sweet, not soaked in sugar like some preserves, and it has only 25 calories per tbsp. The main ingredient is fruit (cherries, blackberries, concord grapes, blueberries, pomegranate juice concentrate and açai). I like it on English muffins and I also like to mix it in with plain vanilla yoghurt, to make a less sweet berry yoghurt. I couldn't find an exact picture of the bottle, probably because it is a Costco only product, but it looks similar to the one below. If you are a jam/preserve person, and a Costco member, you might want to give this a try. It was something like $5.60 or so for a large 40 oz. jar. ![]() Re: Oddball food recommendation: E.D. Smith Cherries 'n Berries preserves from Costco - mrbigstuff - 10-26-2010 I have to say that I also hate the gastronomic faux pas created when "cherry" flavor is designated on *anything* - except of course actual cherries. My best guess is having to swallow treacly sweet and disgusting cough syrup as a kid. If they are fresh or preserved from real and not those Martian cherries that Food Inc. use in virtually all manner of products, then I'm fine. Re: Oddball food recommendation: E.D.
