what do you think of this OWC Garage Sale battery? - Grumpyguy - 11-24-2010 http://eshop.macsales.com/item/MISC/APLMBP15/ I need a new one for my 2008 pre-unibody MBP. This is the description: Take advantage of a programming error to save big! These high quality major brand high capacity replacement batteries were incorrectly programmed during the manufacturing process. As a result, they only report between 80-90% of fully charged capacity of a guaranteed 50 watt-hours..but may be as high as 62 watt-hours. Re: what do you think of this OWC Garage Sale battery? - pRICE cUBE - 11-24-2010 I have had one for a few weeks now, seems to work fine, much better than my genuine Apple OEM bloater. Re: what do you think of this OWC Garage Sale battery? - Speedy - 11-24-2010 I bought one. I haven't tested it to see how long it runs but it works just fine. Sitting at 98% with continuous 110v connection while folding. Re: what do you think of this OWC Garage Sale battery? - Grumpyguy - 11-24-2010 Thanks. Went ahead and bought one... Re: what do you think of this OWC Garage Sale battery? - IronMac - 11-24-2010 The price is right. Re: what do you think of this OWC Garage Sale battery? - Grateful11 - 11-24-2010 Here's what I posted on the other thread: Quote: >So it's never reaches 100% charge? I need one but it might a bad choice for someone that might be going to sell their MacBook soon as the buyer is going to say it's not charging correctly.< New to this thread: Right now my battery goes to 100% but only gives me about an hour and 45 minutes and it says "Replace Soon". Is this battery going to also say "Replace Soon" since it never reaches 100% ? I'm still on the fence as whether to buy one or not. Does it fit properly with the slightly rounded edge like the original, that's one of the complaints of a lot of knock-off batteries. My current battery: Model Information: Manufacturer: DP Device name: ASMB016 Pack Lot Code: 0002 PCB Lot Code: 0000 Firmware Version: 0110 Hardware Revision: 0500 Cell Revision: 0200 Charge Information: Charge remaining (mAh): 1298 Fully charged: No Charging: No Full charge capacity (mAh): 3356 Health Information: Cycle count: 482 Condition: Replace Soon Battery Installed: Yes Amperage (mA): -1228 Voltage (mV): 11235 Re: what do you think of this OWC Garage Sale battery? - josntme - 11-24-2010 I rolled the dice and have one on the way. We'll see just how good it is. Re: what do you think of this OWC Garage Sale battery? - M A V I C - 11-24-2010 I think "Replace Soon" means it's failing. What's funny is, the stock battery in my MBP never did that. It had around 120 cycles - less than 1/4th yours. And it's 100% dead. Not even a split second of charge. |
