Clear is expanding their 4G internet both mobile and home in many areas and they have a week of deals

The iSpot on Thursday is $20, no contract ($25 month to month) and is specifically for iOS devices, but people have hacked them to work on other devices.
If the device you look for is 4G, it is 4G only and will not work-not will they sell it to you if you are in a 3G only area.

$25 per mo for 6 mbps/1 mbps?!
If it were even half that throughput with under 100ms latency to the first hop, I'd be very inclined to commit!
Would one be able to hook an iSpot up to a router so it could work with wired and 802.11g?

There isn't consistent info on when or why they would throttle. For some it happens after a few GB, as Bill in NC says. For others, they can d/l quite a bit more. But their claims of unlimited and no speed caps come with a large caveat.
What's funny is, the relatively slow speed (3-5Mbps average) is already an effective throttle---you would think.

At one point the rep says torrent use will trigger it, another time a Netflix movie followed by a day of web surfing could trigger it. Thanks for the warning, and I think for now I'll stick with my crappy 1.5Mbps DSL. At least it doesn't go down below that.

Their site showed me $45 for something like that (the Take One plan), or $35 for 1.5Mbps down.

Latency is not as good as my cable modem, but better than the Sprint 3G powered MiFi that I also use.
