Link for parents (and grand parents) of defiant teens - Jimmypoo - 12-23-2010 Another reason I'm sticking with cats! Actually, i take that back. My cats don't deign to respond to me if i ask them questions. Re: Link for parents (and grand parents) of defiant teens - Mini 9 - 12-24-2010 ironically, there was a girl in HS-early-college that 'seduced' me (for lack of better term) that I find out is a sex abuse consultant (not sure of actual degree). I even bumped into her Christmas shopping a couple years ago and first words were "You look GReeaAAAT!" lol Re: Link for parents (and grand parents) of defiant teens - rjmacs - 12-24-2010 Mini 9 wrote: ![]() ![]() Re: Link for parents (and grand parents) of defiant teens - Jimmypoo - 12-24-2010 Is that when you got the "9mm" designation? At least, for all the cats and teenagers I've had to deal with. At least, cats: - have a well-defined set of priorities (food, water, sleep, play; not necessarily in that order) - unabashedly follow their instincts without angst, depression, or second-guessing - treat you, rightfully, as staff; if you're good staff, you'll receive a token of appreciation, in the form of a dead rodent, bird, or coughed-up hairball - have a simple input/output scheme: food/water in, poop/vomit out. No disappearing money. Simply put, cats make sense. Teenagers don't. Money disappears very fast! Re: Link for parents (and grand parents) of defiant teens - Jimmypoo - 12-24-2010 Well... I can say that the almost six years of thrice daily fluid injections, and the cost of anabolics and pulsed antibiotics - it was worth every penny for one very special kitty. I can honestly say that there have been others who for various reasons, it was decided that no such extensive measures would be pursued. "3 to 6 months to live" indeed! Re: Link for parents (and grand parents) of defiant teens - james101 - 01-19-2012 Cats are not that hard to descipline than teens atleast the cat won't answer you back and won't say it's "payback". If cats will be given what they need they won't make your day miserable. |
