Which do you favor for WikiLeaks apps stance? Apple or Google? - Mini 9 - 12-24-2010

(Reuters) - Apple Inc has joined a growing number of U.S. companies that have severed ties with WikiLeaks, removing an application from its online store that gave users access to the controversial website's content.

But Google Inc, which operates the second-largest online mobile applications store, has kept more than half a dozen apps available on its Android Marketplace that make it easier to access the confidential U.S. government documents WikiLeaks had released on its site.

This thread is destined for the other side, but.... As long as it's here:

I don't really see the value (other than taking a nationalistic position, which for a multinational corporation seems odd, at best) of banning these sorts of apps. Allowing them is no more an 'endorsement' of WikiLeaks than any other app is an endorsement of its content. It doesn't affect whether the information is available through the web browser on the same device, and Apple isn't blocking websites because of content. Unless you count Flash hehehe.

Note: i am NOT saying that Apple doesn't have the right to ban these apps. Of course it does. I'm just saying that to me, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

As much as it pains me, I have to say Google is spot on here.

I still hate those slimy Google fsckers

You are really asking for an opinion on wikileaks itself.

How should it be worded to ask if you approve of Apple or Google's position, then?
