Staples $15 off $50 in-store coupon **YMMV**

With all the good deals @ staples this might come in handy.

Scroll past the chinese and you will see it.

Valid 4/3/06 - 5/31/06. The coupon is from the Texas area, so might not work in your area?

It says it can't be used with "instant savings". . .though in the past people have had luck with similiar coupons depending on the local store BUT this depends on your local store.

Confirmed...coupon works.

Just got back from my local Staples (Little Rock, AR) and bought:

1) 1GB PNY USB thumb drive (SKU 595802) $44.48

2) Staples 6-outlet surge protector (SKU 485687) $4.98

3) Some candy bar for $0.50 as a filler

Minus the $15 coupon, after tax (7.5%), my total came out to $38.12

The USB drive has a $20 Staples Easy Rebate (SER) and the surge protector has a $5 SER. If you don't know about SER's, they're 'easy as pie', requiring nothing to be mailed in and about 5 minutes of your time on Staples website submitting them.

Final cost will be $13.12, and that's a good price for an average USB drive of this size.

Just an update...

While on my way to give someone a ride, I stopped by Staples again with another one of these $15 coupons. This time I bought the I/O Magic Model IDVD168DL (Staples SKU 643060) dual-layer/dual-format 16x internal DVD burner.

The price is $59.58. Minus the $15 coupon plus tax on the remainder (@ 7.5%) is $43.46, but, it gets better...

There's a $30 Staples Easy Rebate. That's right boys and girls. It's about $13 for this drive, but wait, (I think) this is more than your average DVD burner...

This is actually a rebadged Ben Q DW1670 drive, and from what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong), this is a very highly regarded burner. It's right up there with Pioneer and NEC. So...booyah!

P. S. - One final thought, remember, IF YOU HAVE ANY INK CARTRIDGES TO RECYCLE, Staples will recycle it for you and give you a $3 coupon good for any purchase. What's more, THIS COUPON STACKS WITH THE $15 ONE. I did this for the purchase described above, making the deal a bit sweeter.

Congrats! Great deals BUT those all have "instant savings" so my local staples won't take it.

I might try another branch and see. . .

You probably more than likely have a bunch of FW/SD/BB people in your area. I was able to use this coupon in SoCal also.

Man bummer. You're right. I didn't notice the bit about "instant savings". It seems the sales associate didn't notice that exclusion during my sale. However, I will say, when I was purchasing the burner, a second associate came over to the register and looked at the coupon in more detail. She mentioned that if the item rings up with "instant savings", then they'll not honor the coupon. But, whatever may have been the case, both looked at the screen when it rang up, and both said that it was okay. Funny thing though, I could've sworn the shelf tag for the burner said there was an instant savings. I think in the end though, as Newt' said, YMMV.

I must add that a lot of people have no problem using these type of Staples coupons. . .only a small amount of people have problems. . .I guess it might the fact that I'm in NY. . .most "deal" don't seem to work here Sad

But I'm glad others are able to get them. . .
