Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - Paul F. - 05-10-2006 First; All fill-in fields look like they're on a PC... (poorly defined right and bottom edges, and harsh corners)... Second; no as-you-type spell check (that I have found yet) like Safari. OTHER than those two points, I love this browser! VERY VERY fast page loading. Thus far, ALL secure sites (banks, credit cards, etc) that I have tried have worked flawlessly. I've switched over at work, and on my iBook at home... when I have time, my G4 will get Firefox also. Why haven't I tried this before? Too lazy to give it a fair shot when Safari has been working adequately... Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - jdc - 05-10-2006 use safari with pithhelmet and saft and see how you like it then and firefox has a ton of "skins" that will make it look more mac like Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - Zoidberg - 05-10-2006 I'm still an OmniWeb guy; love this browser. The new 5.5 betas are quite fast, too. http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omniweb/ Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - raz - 05-10-2006 Firefox's best feature is the plugins. Get Adblock That said, I still prefer Camino. (Now with auto-fill!) Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - Seacrest - 05-10-2006 FireFox is a great developers' browser. I still love how stuff looks in Safari, though. It's a huge disappointment to see my pages on Windows after viewing them on the Mac. Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - $tevie - 05-10-2006 I like using Firefox for a few reasons. Not the least of which is that I am on a PC at work, and I like being able to use the same browser at home and in the office. Just one little way to make life simpler. Plus using the brushed metal theme makes it appear that I am on a Mac when browsing at work. :-) And oh yes, I love Adblock. Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - bangman - 05-10-2006 Try Opera and see how you like it. It's free. Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - Mr Downtown - 05-10-2006 I find that Firefox downloads PDFs rather than opening them "within" the browser, as Safari does. Is there some setting I need to change? Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - LaserKun - 05-10-2006 I'm with Zoid, OmniWeb is my favorite; SeaMonkey a very close second. Then, Camino. I hardly ever use Safari anymore, and don't use FireFox either now. Try SeaMonkey... I think you might like it too. It is the only browser that does not crash on my Mac. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/releases/seamonkey1.0.1/ Re: Been using Firefox for 3 days now... only TWO things I don't like.. - rgG - 05-10-2006 Hey Paul, Did you DL the Google toolbar to use with Firefox? It is a good addition. Has spell check, not on the fly, and autoFill and other goodies. |
