Flash Player web won't start my webcam! (pic) - Jerry® - 01-20-2011
Ok, so my friend has a video chat room set up for me and our friends to gather and chat, gossip, etc and it requires Flash. Well, I've never had a problem with it locating and starting up my built-in isight until now. I've tried in multiple browsers - I've downloaded the latest version of Flash (enev though I already had the latest version) and I can't get it to work.
If I click on the camera list, it lists Google Video Adaptor 0 and Google Video Adaptor 1 as other sources - but none work.
Also, I have no other application open that would use my webcam.
So what do I do?? I've been to Adobe's Support and gained nothing.
Can someone help me out here???

Do you by chance have Maccam kicking around your computer? I've found that starting it and selecting things randomly can sometimes "unstick" camera problems.
Also-- don't mean to be insulting, but I have to ask-- did you restart?

nah no maccam. and yeah I restarted. And NO it's not for porn rooms Speedy!
it used to work fine I don't know what changed?

Quit your browser, remove the contents of "~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/" and try again.

Does your iSight work in Photo Booth? (I.e., is your cam working properly when Flash is not involved?)

Are you on an Intel Mac running a recent version of the OS? If so, try running Safari in 32-bit mode. You can set that with a checkbox in the Get Info window for Safari.

You could try downgrading the Flash plugin.

Yes it works for iChat, Photo Booth and Face Time. I don't know why it's not allowing Flash to access my cam?
