My favorite was picking up a new Vette in Bowling Green, KY, in 2006, and driving it back to Seattle (6,100 miles, I think) to ship it home to Kauai. This year we did something similar ... picked up a new Ford F150 near Dallas and drove for a month before shipping it from Tacoma.
