I'm The Last To Know This™- 3-finger up/down in Apple Mail - tuqqer - 03-18-2011
Just accidentally learned a new trackpad gesture (As Eddy Izzard says, "It's less of a maneuver, more of a gesture.). I'm pretty sure I'm one of the last to know:
While your cursor is *anywhere* in the classic Message Viewer window, swipe up or down with three fingers. It moves you up or down one message in your list. Cool extra is that it doesn't "scroll" or run through them like the two-fingered scroll in Safari. Instead the gesture "sticks" to the next message in line. Handy
Not quite on par as the discovery of penicillin, but there you go.

Awesome! Didn't know that one either, so I guess that makes me "I'm The Last To Know This™" now.

Correct: it gets passed down. You may end up keeping the title for years, but it also might last just a few minutes.

I recently discover that in iTunes swiping across the magic mouse lets you scrum (scrim?) the song playing.

SCRUBBING! that's what it's called. moving forward or reverse with your fingers in a vid or music file. very handy when i was trying to learn a small section of a song. took me all day to think of the right term. whew. now i can rest.
