The use of 'cloud' as a verb - DaviDC. - 03-18-2011

The other night I heard a commercial about how easy their product was 'to cloud.' I wasn't watching so I don't know what was being advertised but using cloud as a verb made the grammer nazi in me take notice.

I can't stand most of the cloud marketing because it is often 1) doesn't actually make use of cloud computing or 2) doesn't actually make a difference if it was on the cloud or not.

"Hookers and booze will cloud your judgement." Isn't that correct usage?

But yeah - my grammar nazi is on the march too. I understand that languages are not static, but ours is being tortured to death. There's a special place in hell for the marketing "creatives" who come up with this shit.

The one where the woman clones her kids' heads into one picture to make a nice family photo drives me nuts. What does that have to do with "the cloud"?
