how do I play Flash Videos? - space-time - 03-19-2011

I wanted to download and store offline the flood video posted below.

There is a website that will convert youtube videos to stand alone files that you can download

www.keepvid.com

Anyway, I downloaded 2 verions: an MP4 and that playes just fine in Quicktime (but it's only 360p). There is a higher quality, 480p, but the only option is Flash Video (.flv). How to a I play this file? OS 10.5.8 asked me how to open it.

Isn't there a stand alone flash player? I think I have plugins because my browsers can deal with flash, but I don't have any stand alone flash player.

I should probably re-install VLC (I nuked and paved recently, and didn't install it yet)

VLC will play it. I do the same thing.

You might also be able to open it from Safari's (or any other web browser's) File menu.

Also, Adobe Air [media player].
