Interesting roundup of today's front pages - Gutenberg - 05-02-2011

Poynter.org is showing the front pages of 20 newspapers, small and large. Some of the headlines are pretty out there, like the Philly Daily News' "WE GOT THE BASTARD!"

Yea, well we Philie pholks have been known to boo Santa Claus and toss snow balls at him too. Seems in keeping w/ the image.

"ROT IN HELL" has a nice ring to it.

Interesting - that's not at all what my Washington Post front page looks like. I guess they completely redesigned the front page between the delivery and newsstand editions.

Yes, home delivery papers are on the press by about 11 p.m. because they have to make the trucks by 3 a.m. Newsstand copies hit the trucks at 4 a.m. and are run about 1 a.m. (shorter run, less press time). I bet they printed about 100,000 extras today though.

Well, my delivery paper was certainly run after 11 (i'm certain they pulled the initial run last night after this news broke). My delivery run has an OBL headline and stories, but they are significantly different from the newsstand version.
