Permission to discuss AAPL when down? - (vikm) - 06-07-2011

It's just off limits when it's riding high during trading hours, right?!? lol

WTF? The market is up a bit (even the tech sector seems to be back up for the mst part) and yet AAPL takes it on the chin again. Outside of the odd person here or there that doesn't see the need or have any great desire to make use if the coming upgrades or services, yesterday's announcements have gotten overwhelmingly good press. It's borderline criminal how low the stock is based on quarterly reports and overall future projections. Yesterday's announcements and the follow up analysis certainly didn't do anything to hurt it. It wasn't even the norm of a run up in price prior to the announcement with the subsequent drop off afterwards. What gives?

Which is why I pointed out that other than one shining day recently, there really wasn't much of the normal run up of the stock that has taken place in the past. Just seems a bit odd. Really not sure what those market geniuses are looking for. You'd be hard pressed to find a better overall model company in any sector that shows the consistency that Apple has. Crazy.

i think Apple would have to have found a cure for cancer for the stock not to fall after a major new announcement. and even then...

I needed to sell some shares for a home project. So as the price was rising on rumors last week I put a stop loss order in for $340. While I was hoping it'd keep going up, it usually falls after these announcements. I swear this stock has never behaved like a typical stock. It has gotten better. But it still defies logic.

Getting close to recent support at $330.

apple moves around these keynotes are based on hardware - isn't that right?

When they announce new, enticing hardware - that's when the big moves happen.

Speculators and talking heads have APPL as a favorite target.
