unzipping a file - graylocks - 06-07-2011 i sent someone a zip file to download from DropBox. she said she can't open it. i have asked her what computer/operating system she uses but i suspect windows. i'm so mac centric. in the windows world is there any thing more complicated than double-clicking the file involved to uncompress a file? Re: unzipping a file - Seacrest - 06-07-2011 Windows (since XP) has unzip capability built-in, but IIRC, it may not be that intuitive. Better to right-click for UnZip options than double-click, as double-clicking opens the archive without unzipping it. Re: unzipping a file - OWC Jamie - 06-07-2011 might be opening (or trying to )with the wrong program right click ( option - rightclick ? ) to invoke a open with options and pick winzip ( or whatever) and there should be a tick box or option to always use this. Re: unzipping a file - Buzz - 06-07-2011 she's obviously not a friend; friends don't let friends use windows... /// :-) == |
