Flinging video from Mac to something - pinion - 06-17-2011 About to go on vacation which will essentially be a home away from home to relax in a different place. I have a Mac server with a bunch of videos and I'm wondering what is the best way to get it from my remote mac to the place I'll be at. Apple TV 2 jailbroken is one option or an app that will stream it to my MacBook that I'll have on me is another option. Any tips or software ideas are greatly appreciated! Re: Flinging video from Mac to something - testcase - 06-17-2011 How many GBs are you talking about? I just load whatever video I want onto my 17" MBP. After I watch something, it gets deleted and, I get my HD space back. Later this summer, I'll be away and, have limited access to 110VAC. When I have access, I'll shift shows from the HD to a 64GB USB thumb drive. Said thumb drive will draw far less battery power when I'm boondocking. Same delete after viewing plan. I considered a separate external HD but right now I don't think I bother with the extra gear. Re: Flinging video from Mac to something - pinion - 06-17-2011 That's an option. I just was thinking I'd have my library available. I'm packing the Apple TV so we'll have Netflix at the very least ![]() Thanks for the reply! J |
