Care to recommend a sunblock stick? - wurm - 06-18-2011

A couple of summers ago while shopping for some sunblock, I happened to pick up a handy little sunblock stick. I can't remember the brand, but I do remember that it was shaped kind of like a travel size deodorant stick, rather than a fat chap-stick shape. They're not cheap, at about $5/stick, so it's clearly more expensive than the already overpriced lotions. But we loved the convenience and as a result, I kept it in my pocket and was more likely to remember to apply it regularly.

Doing a search, the only ones I can find are by Neutro*ena (why the hell is that word banned?) and Hawaiian Tropic. Before I go compulsively buying some more, does anyone here have a favorite sunscreen/sunblock stick that they would recommend? Thanks.(I'm pretty sure that wasn't what I used) and Hawaiian Tropic, which could have been it. Did you want the stick because it has solids in it (titanium dioxide) - the kind that life guards use on the
nose, etc.? Or was it not that type - just a solid applicator of standard sunblock of some number?

Some of these are lip sized (for lips, obviously) - but perhaps the pic will remind you of a larger cousin?

Thanks. I didn't think to do a google image search. None of those pictured looks familiar, but I'm inclined to think it was the Hawaiian Tropic. The stick must have had the solids in it because it went on like an anti-perspirant stick. No mess, no running, no need to really touch the stuff at all, so no greasy fingers.

This thick?

.

Otherwise just sounds like something that melts on contact like lip balm - except a wider applicator.

Not that thick, no. I just ordered some of the stuff reviewed here. Got a three-pack via eBay for $10.98 shipped.

That sounds like a good deal, actually. $11 for 3? Post your ebay link if they have more. Gotta be readers that can benefit.

Bah!

Unfortunately, access to this particular listing or item has been blocked due to a Paris commercial court decision that bans trade of certain authentic perfumes and cosmetic products on eBay because of French selective distribution laws. eBay is appealing this ruling but is nevertheless required to enforce it. We are blocking your viewing in an effort to comply with this court decision. Regrettably, in some cases, we may prevent users from accessing items that are not within the scope of the decision because of limitations on existing technology.

Well, that's rather interesting. Never seen that one before. But apparently you're not alone. Evidently it's fixable by changing language settings on your browser.
