Goodbye Netflix! - Catzilla - 07-13-2011 I've had them since they had "tens of movies" but a 50% increase is just too much! Re: Goodbye Netflix! - space-time - 07-13-2011 I will drop the DVDs, I only had 1 anyway and rarely returned it. Re: Goodbye Netflix! - M A V I C - 07-13-2011 It still seems like the best deal around. Cable TV: $60/mo, or $100/mo if you want HD Redbox: Much smaller selection and never has much in stock iTunes: Not that great of a selection. 4 shows = new price of netflix. Amazon: Same issues as iTunes Netflix works well here. Mailed a DVD on Friday, had a new one on Monday. Newer shows are in HD. No commercials. Much larger blu-ray selection. Re: Goodbye Netflix! - Rick-o - 07-13-2011 I haven't got the price increase email yet, but after several years of being their customer, I'm now getting throttled. I have the 3 out at a time plan, and until recently have had excellent turnaround of discs. I could mail them, get an email the next day saying they received the discs, and were sending out the next discs in my queue, which would arrive the next day. Now it takes several days for them to receive and several more to send them out. Yeah, I'm about ready to cut them off. Maybe ALL subscribers should do the same and send them a HUGE message. :villagers: Re: Goodbye Netflix! - olnacl - 07-13-2011 Already did, a few months ago. That was after the last price increase. Re: Goodbye Netflix! - graylocks - 07-13-2011 streaming is still a good deal for me. my son uses it a lot. i'm not really a big movie watcher myself. redbox and amazon can fill any gaps. i'm also doing Hulu Plus but i may drop that when summer is over. Re: Goodbye Netflix! - Uncle Wig - 07-13-2011 I'll keep it. I don't like the price increase either, but I think it's still a pretty good value and there are some movies I insist upon seeing on DVD. I've been meaning to do the streaming only free month trial, since our Blu-Ray player streams Netflix (as does our Wii but it's not HD), but haven't really had the need. |
