Fixed my mom's LaZ Boy chair! - DaviDC. - 07-13-2011

The thing wouldn't stay in the position she wanted & I've been hearing about it for weeks. The other day I looked at it & discovered that the ratchet bar had 3 worn teeth. My friend who works in customer service at the main local LaZ Boy office got the part I needed & today I replaced it. I cussed a bit when I discovered that Torx head screws were used but I dug around in the garage a bit & found a brand new set of driver heads that fit the 1/4" socket handle.

The mother unit will be happy when she gets home & finds that her chair now works like it should.

Well done !
My wife still mocks me with the way I 'fixed' my father in law's old Laz-y-Boy. I had to weld a bracket back together, and I was too lazy to take it off the chair. And ended up setting that part of the chair on fire. I had the hose and put it out right away, but it was a Tim Taylor moment.

Wouldn't it be a Laz Girl chair?

You're a good son. :boink:
