Anyone have any experience or knowledge of Spinal Cord Stimulators? - Grateful11 - 09-19-2011
I'm going for a Consult tomorrow on getting a possible Spinal Cord Stimulator put in, they first do a one
week trial. Just wondering if anyone on here has one, ever tried one or know anyone with one. My insurance
will pay for it but I have to get it done before the end of the year, after 12/31/11 no more insurance for
me, unless I go temporarily to Cobra and I doubt I'll be able to afford it. I only know one person with one
and she's in such bad shape from a horrendous auto accident that nothing gives her much relief.

My dad had it done. Didn't provide much relief but it didn't make anything worse. If you can get it done under insurance, I'd recommend trying it while you can.

A cow-orker blew out a disc moving heavy drums without the right posture. He got a lifetime disability as a result. He had one installed after enduring the pain for a couple of months. It completely eliminated his pain but occasionally had to be cranked up enough that he could feel it buzzing. I have not heard from him in 10 years so I do not know what the long term situation is.
