I don't have this monday off, but I'm taking next monday off (17th) b/c the kids are out of school and we are going on a roadtrip for the weekend.

I certainly don't agree with that. Arguably Columbus was one of "the crazy ones".

I am working. And my kids have school. Why would we want to celebrate the oppression and complete destruction of the ecosystem of the entire western hemisphere of the globe ?
(My ancestors were oppressed Irishmen and women. It was all the fault of those darn Portuguese and Castilians)
