New MBPs coming? - mstudio - 10-09-2011 Since I'm planning on buying a MBP I have to assume there will be an update within a week or so after my purchase. February was the last update so it's a little past the average time. I don't read the rumor sites, does anyone else? Re: New MBPs coming? - Zoidberg - 10-09-2011 2012 is rumored to be a major makeover year for the portable at Apple; I'd need to search for references, but I recall Tim (maybe not Tim, but I know not Steve) saying something about the MacBook Air being a sort of prototype for the next MacBook Pro line -- in other words, the two lines were going to meld together and there were already a few designs "skunkworking" around Apple, and that the 2012 release (the last major update (with Thunderbolt added) was in Q1 2011) would represent a paradigm shift in the line.
