I was doing a little early Christmas shopping a few weeks ago and found a good price on a large tool box. I ordered, got confirmation, and a few days later, I noticed a pending charge on my credit card. A few days ago I noticed the charge was removed and the next day got this email from them:

We regret to inform you that we are "out of stock" on the product(s) you ordered.

Ok, that's all well and fine, but no mention if they will again have stock, will ship when they get stock in, or what. It looks like they will help me find something similar, but I want this specific model. I did email them right back, but it's been several days and no word from them yet.

I want to order from a different vendor, but I don't want the hassles of two tool boxes arriving at my door if the first order is still active. What do you think they're trying to say? :dunno:

And yeah, I know I could call them, but I despise playing the 'ol phone tag game. I order online so I DON'T have to deal with their phone droids.

You would think someone would be monitoring the frickken emails they receive. :X

Ahh. Venting is so cathartic. :eye:

Looks cancelled to me, since it says OOS and not back ordered.

Thanks for the input. I think you're both right. Their email could have gave me a bit more detail, IMO.

Chak, I've found dozens of vendors for that particular box. http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=DZ8546SB&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 Amazon even has it, but they had something like 5-8 weeks for delivery. That kind of pushes it, considering how fast Christmas is sneaking up on us.

FWIW, this toolbox won't be installed in a pickup. I want it for a side by side buggy, mounted in the box. The dimensions for this particular box are a perfect fit, with the added benefit of being able to lock it up.

I looked everywhere for a truck box for my truck. Online and off. I couldn't find anything that I liked. Finally found a small local place that had exactly what I was looking for. And it was of better quality than anything I'd found as well as cheaper. And they put it on for me that day.

I guess what I'm saying is look around locally. You might find what you need.

The email doesn't clearly state so there is no way of knowing.

Sure looks like a standard bait&switch. I'd check the website and see if they still list is as available - if they DO, I would have some very nasty feelings toward them.

TO be certain, you need to contact them or check to see if this order is still among 'open orders' in your profile on their website.
