Office problem since Security update - swf - 02-02-2012 Macbook 2.4 running 10.6.8 Ran the latest security update last night. Have old Office for Mac v.X on this machine running under Rosetta. Since the update, whenever I change or create anything in Word or Powerpoint and try to save the document, all the icons in the application toolbar gray out and becomes unresponsive. I have to Force Quit to close. This is occurring on another Macbook that has v.X after the update. Is there any way to eliminate that update? I have a bootable backup that was done prior to the update, but is a couple of days old, thus does not have the most current files. (I know I should backup more frequently, but in this case it's a good thing I didn't). I've tried booting from the backup and Office works fine. So I have to conclude that it is the update that killed Office v.X. Since I am not a huge Word or Powerpoint user, this version has served me well for a long time. Would prefer not to have to update to 2011, but I will if I have to. Re: Office problem since Security update - sekker - 02-02-2012 Did you try repairing permissions after the update? Re: Office problem since Security update - swf - 02-02-2012 Repaired permissions. Still no joy! Re: Office problem since Security update - anonymouse1 - 02-02-2012 Security update trashes Rosetta.
