lost iTunes card - abevilac - 02-13-2012

my hubby received an iTunes card from his brother for Christmas which he gave to me and I placed it in the family room by the TV and the mini. Well, now it is MIA -- nobody's blaming anybody [yet] but would Apple reissue the card. I guess we have to ask the brother to do this. Anybody w/ experience w/ this?

Nevermind -- I should have searched the web first...

Lost or Stolen Cards
To report a lost or stolen Apple Gift Card, please contact Apple at any Apple Store location or by telephone at 1-800-MY-APPLE. Replacement cards will be issued after Apple verifies that the lost or stolen card has not been redeemed and you present your original purchase receipt. Apple is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards.

Depends how he bought it. Since they're treated 'just like cash' for itunes account purposes.. well, probably not.

Check the couch cushions ?

We have a black cat that likes to steal random things and hide them in her kitty castle. She's referred to as "Thing 2". Her biggest fascination is with my daughter's elastic hair ties. I'm convinced she's trying to learn how to 'shoot' them at the Chihuahuas.

damn...not so simple. He did buy it at an Apple Store and did not save the receipt & it was not emailed to him. He suggested I stop looking for it and then it will show up...yeah-- just checked the couch cushions :-( and no cat to blame it on either.

I would think the Apple store would have a record of the purchase. Did he pay with a credit card?

Maybe they can help you out.

I'm actually impressed that they have a lost card policy. Very customer friendly of them. Other stores ? Pfft. It's like losing a $20 in the parking lot. Tough cookies.

He paid by credit card but he doesn't want to be bothered w/ the whole thing. He is a busy guy, so I guess I just have to keep an eye out for it. I too was actually pleasantly surprised that Apple has a lost card policy that is remarkably friendly.

Ask St. Anthony to find it.

LIkewise.

I would have guessed as others did- Would the bank or Treasury issue me a $50 bill because I lost mine?

If the card has just been misplaced or lost in the house, at least it will still be valid when it's found. Hopefully.

In CA, gift cards are pretty much good forever. The same must be true on some/many other states.
