iPod touch stopped receiving email from iCloud (IMAP) - help? - LaserKun - 03-12-2012 As of last Friday my iPod touch stopped receiving emails from my iCloud (MobileMe) account. I changed over from MobileMe to iCloud (IMAP) on this Mac and my iPod touch when iCloud first came out, and nary a problem until Friday. I even tried deleting the account from my iPod and then adding it back again, using the same settings as my Mac has - no luck. I have two iPod touches, and same thing on both of them! Anybody else having these problems? I'll keep researching online to see what I can find. Re: iPod touch stopped receiving email from iCloud (IMAP) - help? - decay - 03-12-2012 how is iCloud = IMAP? Re: iPod touch stopped receiving email from iCloud (IMAP) - help? - Bimwad - 03-13-2012 Verify your client settings. There are mixed reports of iCloud acting wonky for people who have transitioned, pertaining to passwords and legacy addresses. Even if the settings are correct, I wouldn't discount another issue on their end. how is iCloud = IMAP? "SSL is required for both IMAP and SMTP connection with iCloud. POP is not supported by iCloud." Re: iPod touch stopped receiving email from iCloud (IMAP) - help? - LaserKun - 03-13-2012 I have been on .Mac/MobileMe/iCloud and way back, was it iTools (?), I forgot, anyway, this problem started last Friday, March 9th, and is a first for me. On both iPod touches, it began Friday. Strange, since I have never had a problem with email in all these years... Still working on it. Success!! For some reason, I had to delete the account, start over again, and instead of using xxx@me.com, I had to use xxx@mac.com as my ID and email address; I had not changed anything. Weird - it was on xxx@me.com, and would not receive/send emails. One iPod touch down, one more to reset. |
