lower blood pressure with yoga? any luck? - mrbigstuff - 03-13-2012

regular exercise is always good, but have you any experience with yoga, specifically, helping to lower blood pressure?

I've had a bit of a spike lately that is not explained by heart or other abnormalities. I'm guessing lack of sleep is really at the root of it and I'm hoping that yoga can help with the sleep and, consequently, with the BP.

yoga is very good at decreasing stress. decreasing stress should have a positive effect on your blood pressure.

i've had minor digestive issues much of my life which got worse over the past few years. 15 minutes of meditation on a semi-daily basis has done wonders.

A man goes to the doctor for a check-up.

Doctor: "You have to stop masturbating."
Man: "But why, doc?"
Doctor: "Because I'm trying to take your blood pressure."

If you like beets, add them to your diet. Buy them already pickled in jars and slice up a few in a green salad, or get them fresh and roast them. They really work wonders w/ lowering BP and they are sweet too. Beet juice is another easy way to ingest them.
