random musings on the inexplicable branding of a breakfast cookie - Marc Anthony - 03-14-2012 Has anyone sampled Belvita breakfast biscuits? I've seen a couple commercials and am of the opinion that this product is DOA. The naming choice seems really poor; it sounds like Kraft's "Velveeta". This, alone, puts me off. The "biscuit" part also seems like it was aimed at a European market. Re: random musings on the inexplicable branding of a breakfast cookie - 3d - 03-14-2012 Biscuit, muffins, smoothie and sausage is breakfast food. Cookie, cupcakes, milkshake and hotdogs is not breakfast food. It's all in the marketing ![]() Re: random musings on the inexplicable branding of a breakfast cookie - Uncle Wig - 03-14-2012 Idiotic name, for sure. One that relies on a capital letter in the middle which is a majOr pet peEve of mine. I can deal with a name that's made up of parts of other words, like Nabisco, but I really dislike these invented words for car names, drug names, etc. Again: marketing is the vilest profession on the planet, except for maybe Asian Tiger poacher. Re: random musings on the inexplicable branding of a breakfast cookie - $tevie - 03-15-2012 I would have guessed that a product called "belVita Breakfast Biscuits" would be something along the lines of a Zwieback biscuit. It doesn't sound all that weird to me to learn it's for adults. The word "cookie" or "cracker" would sound like a snack food, which would defeat the idea of it being "nutritious". |
