When's the best time to go and see them?

In general, a day or two after a good rain when everything in the desert bursts into bloom at once.

Also, what wildflowers in which desert are you hoping to see?

I live in Sacramento, so whatever's close to me.

Research Mojave, Anza Borrego, Death Valley and Joshua Tree. I think february is good, but I've never done it myself...

Late March through April is usually the best time, they need heat after the rains. With very little rainfall, this year will not be that great.

Death Valley wildflowers.

The time depends on the year. Cherry Blossom in Washington, D.C. is almost two weeks early this year. I would say call the local range station, but many have been laid off.

Local wildflowers are pretty awesome -- come spring.

You probably want to try Nevada deserts, not those southern ones.

Its a really long trip to Death Valley -- close to 500 miles and 9 hours. But if you do go, and are after a "senic" drive -- you will want to take 50 to SLT then 395 all the way down. Or you could try 108 or up through Stanislaus or 120 through Tuolumne Meadows (if they arent closed with snow)

Which desert are you thinking? Here in the Sonoran, we had a pretty good season but early thanks to the warmer than normal temps.
