Woman killed with tire iron for being Iraqi in America - Dennis S - 03-26-2012
I used to think calling crimes "hate crimes" was superfluous, but not anymore. If they catch this POS (and arrest him and convict him), although I am against the death penalty, I would pull the switch twice.

I saw mild degrees of this sort of thing when I was teaching during the Iranian hostage crisis. I had a little Iranian girl in my class who was unaffected, as they were just 8 and 9 year olds, but her older brother in high school was sworn at, spit upon and beaten up once at a football game.
As can be understood, it was a pro-Shah, anti-Ayatollah family who had fled Iran when the religious nuts took over. Those facts didn't seem to affect the behavior of the high school kids AND many of their parents, who screamed at BOE meetings that the kids should be expelled from school. Obviously, some of my colleagues hadn't done a perfect job in "educating" the community.

Same thing taking place today with Muslims (and gays) in schools. From my observations the children are fine with their fellow students - it's the adults that are the problem (including many of my fellow teachers).

The police don't even know yet if the note is meant to mislead or not. Thank goodness they are not knee-jerk reactionaries with nooses in their hands.

When Christians are killed for their beliefs in countries that are mostly Muslim or anti-Christian, there's a hue and cry about it.
Not so much when, in the USA, the country touted as having FREEDOM OF RELIGION, you are murdered for your beliefs.
