I saw a birdie in the sky,
I felt something juicy in my eye,
I didn't laugh, I didn't cry,
I was only glad that cows couldn't fly.

Fred,

The version I learned as a kid:

Little birdie in the sky,
why'd you do that in my eye?
I'm sure glad cow's don't fly!

Behold! The Magnificent Pelican!
His beak can hold more than his belly can.

... He can hold in his beak
Enough food for a week;
Though I really don't know how the hellhecan!

That's not quite the way I remember that old Edward Lear limerick, but it's close enough. I loved that when I was a little girl!
