Kyle Nolan Tanner, a knucklehead with a penchant for domestic violence against victims of both sexes, pretended to point a gun in a crowded movie theater near Annapolis. The movie was "Madagascar: Europe's Most Wanted" so there is no tie-in to violent entertainment.

crazy homeless guy is my read, no less dangerous I suppose but not likely to be well-armed with weapons.

Perhaps crazy, but deliberately homeless. He has a restraining order on him, and he's not allowed to go near his girlfriend's apartment, let alone sleep there because of his unfortunate habit of beating the hell out of her. He could be armed to the teeth for all we know. I'm betting there are other copycats.
