Seasoned and knowledgable public servant vs. high school debate club. - Black - 10-12-2012 That is all. Re: Seasoned and knowledgable public servant vs. high school debate club. - (vikm) - 10-12-2012 That was my observation within the first twenty minutes. It wouldn't have been surprising if Biden had chosen to put his arm around him and said something like "Listen here, son..." Re: Seasoned and knowledgable public servant vs. high school debate club. - RgrF - 10-12-2012 Preconceived notions abound. How a new or uninformed voter might respond is probably beyond analysis since if they today have no opinion of their choice, they'll be watching their kids recital or game. Vice Presidential nominees, with an exception for Mrs. Palin, are not really any factor in the final vote these days. Fifty or sixty years ago they were counted on to deliver their state or region (think LBJ) today they are less than nothing and their feeble debate encounters reflect that position. Re: Seasoned and knowledgable public servant vs. high school debate club. - (vikm) - 10-12-2012 Maybe it's not as big of a deal for me this time around, but 4 years ago Biden certainly helped solidify my position to support Obama since Joe was easily one if my favorites from the early Democratic primaries. It was the best possible ticket for me at the time and nothing has changed in that regard (outside of maybe Hillary as VP and I was never much of a fan). Re: Seasoned and knowledgable public servant vs. high school debate club. - Surfrider - 10-12-2012 I like Joe. He brought the "robot" out in Ryan. Smidgens® (a tasty Hershey's confection) count. Joe's "performance" should help. He's a known entity and he demonstrated a deep legislative knowledge which spans each political realm. He showed his opponent to be kind of a one-trick pony with a legislative specialty that he's vulnerable on. Poor Ryan is fighting a losing battle with that Eddie Munster look. What is up with that delivery that makes him sound like a 6th-grader reading a passage from a textbook, all the time? Re: Seasoned and knowledgable public servant vs. high school debate club. - $tevie - 10-12-2012 It's not funny when some dude keeps smiling and interrupting you all evening, is it Paul? And yet you thought it was awesome when Romney did it to the President. HA ha. Ryan looked really pissed after a while although you could see how hard he was trying to maintain the proper demeanor. Getting called on all his lies must have been exhausting poor baby. |
