"VP Debate 2012: The Real Paul Ryan Is Bad for America" - $tevie - 10-13-2012
There is a deeply held Beltway myth of Paul Ryan, Man of Big Ideas, and it dies hard. But, if there is a just god in the universe, on Thursday night, it died a bloody death, was hurled into a pit, doused with quicklime, buried without ceremony, and the ground above it salted and strewn with garlic so that it never rises again. On foreign policy, Ryan occasionally rose, gasping, to the level of obvious neophyte. (He was more lost in Afghanistan than the Russian army ever was.) On domestic policy, his alleged wheelhouse, he was vague, untruthful, and he walked right into a haymaker he should have seen coming from a mile off, when he started bloviating about Biden's role in the "failed" stimulus program, only to have Biden slap him around with Ryan's own requests for stimulus money for his home district back in Wisconsin. He also made it quite clear that a Romney-Ryan White House will do everything it can to eliminate a woman's right to choose. This should make for some fine television commercials over the next few weeks

Yeah it would have been sweet if Biden had been allowed to show the letters he got from Ryan.
But hey, at least we have this from a rally in Lancaster, Ohio.

Yeah I'm a little surprised that Ryan got suckered into this. In relative political terms, it's old news. Looks like it has a second life now.

None of that matters. It's all about VP. Biden's facial expressions. And throwing the intelligence community under the bus. I saw it on Faux.
But what is probably true is that the vice presidential debates don't matter much. But I agree that Rep. Ryan's standing with both the right and the left is diminished from what it was after he took on Pres. Obama at the Republican retreat in '09.

If Obama was white, he'd be leading by TRIPLE digits!!!
Romney-Ryan are out and out liars, but the muddle-brained haters will vote for them, just so they won't have a black in the "white" house.

By that logic we would never have elected Obama for the first term.
I'm not denying it's a factor, but there are plenty of other reasons someone might vote for team liar, including:
-one issue voter against legal abortion
-like much or the world population feels the richest person deserves the 'spoils'
-quasi-permanent identity as a Republican
-doesn't follow current events and vulnerable to the targeted lies that get through to them
-general stupidity independent of racial bias

i know people (i work with one) who will vote Ryan (& Romney) because Ryan's a conservative Catholic. end of story.
