disappearing. It was doing this some yesterday but today it is constant! Something has changed on my MBP because the items in file folders are all jumbled.

BUT WHERE IS THE TOOL bar? I must have hit a wrong button somewhere!

That didn't work. I would have to go to the very top left hand corner, mess around till the apple came up. Toolbar would appear briefly. Well I finally RESET Safari and so far so good.

Appreciate you help and that would be the obvious solution but something was fouled up I guess with Safari. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again!

OH, how I hate LION! I'm about to clean out files on my old macbook and return to it.

Perhaps you were in full screen mode until you restarted Safari.

Unusual, as at our recent MUG meeting, another guy was asking me the same question - how do I get my toolbar back... YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Prefs to move/trash located in ~/Library/Preferences/

com.apple.Safari.plist

This is a common problem for an application. A setting has been set, clearly, and yet the software does not answer to it. A common fix is to trash a preference file. Before you do that, make sure to quit Safari. Then, you should look for the “plist” file according to the following pattern, starting from the desktop: startup disk > user > Library > Preferences > com.apple.safari.plist

Select the com.apple.safari.plist and put it in the Trash. Then, launch Safari again. You are set!
