So my kid says to my wife... - M A V I C - 11-15-2012 My wife wrote this: Oh boy. I was explaining to Magnus that we were shopping today to fill up a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child. The conversation led to talk about orphans and how kids end up with no family or parents. Then he just broke down and started crying. After a few minutes he settled down, I asked him what he was thinking. And he says, "Mom, I know we have a small house but now that Dad has a job, let's buy a bigger house and go find some orphans to come live with us. That's just not ok that some kids don't have a Mom. And you're such a good Mom, I can share you with them. Let's just do that instead of having more babies, Ok?" This kid blesses me. And humbles me. And teaches me.....like it would be just so easy to go adopt a few kids and give them a home. Or maybe it is that easy!!?? He's 3. Re: So my kid says to my wife... - Black - 11-16-2012 I can see you as a foster parent. Re: So my kid says to my wife... - ztirffritz - 11-16-2012 My boy, also 3, said something similar to me. There was a food drive for one of the local food bank and a radio DJ was camped out on top of a semi trailer as a PR stunt to draw attention to the food drive. My son asked why he was up there and I explained that some people don't have enough food for their family so we give them food. We happened to be next to a grocery store so he dragged me into the store and he picked out several cans of soup and some mac-n-cheese to donate. Re: So my kid says to my wife... - Speedy - 11-16-2012 Your son has obviously has a very good mother. Re: So my kid says to my wife... - Racer X - 11-16-2012 I've known this since the beggining. He has great parents! Re: So my kid says to my wife... - lost in space - 11-16-2012 Makes you think: What if 3 year olds ran the world? Re: So my kid says to my wife... - M A V I C - 11-16-2012 lost in space wrote: When I was in 4th grade, I remember thinking of the problems of the world, and looking around at the kids in line in my classroom as we were waiting for the bell to ring. I kept thinking none of these people would create these problems, and couldn't imagine how some could possibly grow up to create those problems. Re: So my kid says to my wife... - Racer X - 11-16-2012 It's easy actually. Some people want a better deal than everyone else, and as long as one person is willing to screw over someone else to get it, the cancer spreads.
