Your friendly, neighborhood predator. - Uncle Wig - 01-12-2013

Not the greatest photo - I don't like that distracting out-of-focus wire - but hey, it's the only hawk I was able to photograph this morning without my coffee going cold.

Cool. Shot this with your K-5? Which lens?

Yes. Sigma 50-500mm. 1/1000, ƒ/11, ISO 500, 500 mm.

Really nice! You can clean up that wire easily in pshop, but it is distracting.

I LOVE sharp pics - I'm sure you can see fine, fine details in the original pic on a big screen

What wire? I see the remnants of a contrail or something behind the wire.

I think the contrast between the talons and the wire, and the shadows of the talons on the wire, add a lot to the picture.

Two wires and a messenger cable. :-)

A little bit of motion blur due to shooting at 500 mm perhaps? Did the bird move and get the cables vibrating?

Very cool, doesn't look all that friendly.

looks diligent and perhaps thoughtful to me.
