New Mac Mini + Parallels + iPod shuffle issue - bazookaman - 03-06-2013
Yes. A strange combination of circumstances here. Last night I took delivery of a new to me iPod shuffle. The one that's about the size of a stamp. I plugged it into my Apple Display and started adding stuff in Itunes. No problem. THEN I launched Parallels (v8) and once it got to the Windows desktop. my mouse just ceased to function. No keyboard or mouse control. Nothing. I had to hard reset the mini. Tried again thinking it was just a fluke. Same deal. I can launch Parallels and use it no problem. I can run itunes and sync the ipod no problem. Just not both at once.
I suppose I should try to plug my keyboard into the mini itself instead of the display to eliminate a "hub issue". Any other thoughts?

Sounds like a hub issue. Try plugging the shuffle into the mini directly and see what happens.
I think I ran into similar quirks a few years ago with a shuffle plugged into a hub.
