disabling mouse wheel behavior - Mr Downtown - 04-10-2013

In Snow Leopard, holding down the mouse wheel causes a calendar-clock-weather display to come onto the screen. How do I disable that so I can use mousewheeldown within my application software? (If I know what that calendar-clock-weather display is called, I might be able to Google it).

If it's an apple mouse, go to the system prefs and change the function of the button. If it's not an apple mouse, go to the mouse software that is being used and adjust there.

It's in the Expose & Spaces system preference.

In mine, as an example, everything is turned blank in there. I don't want my mouse doing anything funky, at all.

Exposé and Spaces? I never even heard of that. Thanks. Apparently the calendar-clock stuff that comes up is something called Dashboard.
