Good/reputable/professional online pay for lessons for photo or video editing? - pRICE cUBE - 05-06-2013 I have mostly been self teaching in my post newspaper career so I have not familiarized myself with tuition dependent programs. I have been given the opportunity to take online courses that will be subsidized. Does anyone have recommendations for web based training to up my proficiency at Photoshop or video editing? Thanks. Re: Good/reputable/professional online pay for lessons for photo or video editing? - clay - 05-06-2013 lynda.com would be a great place to start. Re: Good/reputable/professional online pay for lessons for photo or video editing? - DRR - 05-06-2013 It kind of depends on what type of proficiency you're looking for. Photoshop can encompass photo cleanup, editing, compositing, digital art, and more - each one of those is a specialized field. Ditto editing. There are of course basics classes but my guess would be you have more than enough general knowledge to cover a basics class. Also, I've enjoyed and learned a lot from CreativeLive.com offerings: they broadcast a wide variety of free courses, mostly geared toward photographers (but not all PhotoShop), that you can also purchase for repeated viewing. A lot of well-known photographers and teachers present their lessons and lectures, and it's been fascinating to see the methods some of them use (as the saying goes, there are at least six ways to do the same work in PhotoShop, and we all approach it differently! ) Re: Good/reputable/professional online pay for lessons for photo or video editing? - lost in space - 05-06-2013 lynda.com for me too, though the few courses I've taken were more towards the introductory side. Re: Good/reputable/professional online pay for lessons for photo or video editing? - M A V I C - 05-06-2013 CreativeLive.com. I have a photo course I could "loan" you if you want to get a taste for it. As mentioned above, they do a live course for free, but charge for the recordings. Smart move. I hadn't realized the program was (co?)founded by Chase Jarvis.
