A principal with a sense of humor is a good thing - Lemon Drop - 05-07-2013

This email just went out from my son's high school principal:

What happened to the good old days of cool temperatures and appropriate school attire? Yes, with the advent of warmer weather, students are tempted to adorn their beach wear for school. I have made a promise to some of our students – they won’t see me in speedos as long as I don’t see them similarly attired. All fun aside, we need your help to insure that students are dressed appropriately and respectfully for school. Shorts should be long enough to meet one’s fingertips with arms relaxed to one’s side. Boxer shorts should be covered as should spaghetti straps. If you can help on the home-front, we will keep our focus on the academics!

Thank you!

Principal needs to look up the meaning of the word "adorn." 8-)

First thing I saw. Also, my solution? Uniforms, of course!

He meant "don," obviously not a well proofread email.

Also, it should be "ensure" not "insure."

Principals these days!

I think I should have referred to Mike as the principle.

Our school has done some staff "dress up days" to highlight the issue. Seeing me in a half top always gets kids attention.

Wait until "Mike" finds out you've submitted his work to the editorial board at MR.
