This has nothing to do with either taking photos while paragliding or abusing wildlife. Do you guys even read the articles? He got busted for trespassing on private property.

It's never enough to just read the posted article -- following on to the original report adds more nuance to the issues involved. Although the people involved quickly moved down to an area that was not private property, the feed-lot owners insisted in pressing charges anyways. Their stated rationale was protecting "food security," which was really a smokescreen. They can't seriously think that a photographer from National Geographic was there for the purpose of poisoning the cattle. Whatever they say, their true fear is in being photographed.

I knew that, but still, the arrest had nothing to do with "taking pictures while paragliding" or "abusing wildlife" , as stated by the nimrods that suggested such.

if I call police to report a trespasser, after verifying the person has no right to be on my property, the first thing the officer will do is ask the trespasser to leave voluntarily.
and if the trespasser leaves voluntarily, no arrest.
so I can see this still might be retaliation.

Yes, but expect the word 'terrorist' to show up. After all, anyone taking pictures at an Airport or Port facility or any infrastructure facility can be busted for 'terrorism'. Thanks, Patriot Act.
