Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - Buzz - 07-17-2013 Road trip this coming weekend, and car has been running rough lately, so took car in for service bright and early this morning. Mrs. Buzz followed, to give me a lift back, and then informed me after I got in the car that we were going to the grocery store because we needed a few things, plus she needed an Rx refill. Had not planned on going, but didn't have a choice :-). Told the manager about the dilemma from Monday... Dilemma, dilemma... and asked how somebody could get such a two hundred dollar discount on groceries. He couldn't come up with an explanation, and took down the information; time, register, transaction #, etc., and was going to review the videotape. When I asked him about the absence of management at the time, he double checked a couple of things related to Monday afternoon, but didn't confirm anything specific, but acknowledged whatever he found needed to be looked into a bit more. That's it for me. Hopefully the register receipt and videotape will provide everything management needs... I got the feeling that management generally doesn't bother with scrutinizing that stuff unless/until irregularities are noticed, meaning that if the checker keeps rescanning a bunch of cheap items while shuffling the expensive items across without being scanned, it's not going to attract attention unless somebody calls attention to it. The manager did say that too many price adjustments and voids would trigger management attention, and that it is rare to get more than a $25 credit on a rewards card. Peace, out. /// Re: Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - Beam Me Up Scotty - 07-17-2013 Sheesh Dude, learn to let go. It's not like your the Neighborhood Watch Captain...oh wait...let's rephrase that... D & C Re: Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - Speedy - 07-17-2013 Buzz, glad you were able to follow-up. Good for you! Re: Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - cbelt3 - 07-17-2013 I'm pleased that you were able to send this to its ultimate conclusion. You've gone above and beyond, but it's a good life lesson to explain to Buzz Jr and eventual Buzz III'rds (After college , career, marriage, yadda yadda..) Some of us would have 'let it go', but not all of us. You've taken it as far as you can go. Well done. Pop a cold one and recognize that you have done your civic duty above and beyond. You may now retire the Batman cape until next time.. ![]() Re: Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - decay - 07-17-2013 glad you're... erm, standing your ground ... heheh ![]() Re: Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - Black - 07-17-2013 Dazed & Confused wrote: I would hope that if someone had reason to suspect that your employee was robbing you blind that they'd bring it to you're attention. Re: Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - Racer X - 07-18-2013 no kidding! Re: Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - Beam Me Up Scotty - 07-18-2013 "I would hope that if someone had reason to suspect that your employee was robbing you blind that they'd bring it to you're attention." I just have a tendency to mind my own business. Living in the city you get that way, at least for me anyway. I may have jokingly said to the cashier (right after it happened) "that was quite a discount!" but to go any further (without knowing the full story) is a bit much. Just my opinion... D & C Re: Dilemma being reviewed; at the store... - cbelt3 - 07-18-2013 D&C ... I think that's the diff .. Urban " mind yer own beeswax " vs. suburban "takes a village" attitude. We all come from different places. That's what makes the community cool.
