Sex Ed, anatomy, for teenager - davemchine - 08-19-2013 I'm looking for a sex ed book focusing on anatomy and the basic things a young woman needs to know about herself. I'm sure many of you are parents and would have books to suggest. I've already read a series of books on the very basics of what things look like on the outside, how things work etc, and this time I'm looking for a little more advanced anatomy centered book. There are so many to choose from on amazon that I decided to ask for advice. Thanks for any helpful suggestions. Re: Sex Ed, anatomy, for teenager - davemchine - 08-19-2013 You are right about the information being on the internet for free. Doing a search on this topic will also bring up a lot of things she isn't ready for yet (and I'm the one who decides that) so I'm looking for an educational book. Soon enough she will learn about more advanced topics. Again, thanks for any recommendations in particular books. I'm going to keep it as a good option but continue to look a bit more. Thanks again for suggestions. Re: Sex Ed, anatomy, for teenager - DRR - 08-19-2013 If you're looking for a puberty book - "It's Perfectly Normal" http://www.amazon.com/Its-Perfectly-Normal-Changing-Growing/dp/0763644846/ref=pd_sim_b_1 Targeted at kids a little younger than teen years but you can pick and choose information out of there. Some of it can be a bit "much" depending on how much is already know. Some illustrations are also on the more graphic side, again depending on how prudish you want to be while approaching the topic. But overall well written, well presented, and age appropriate. If you're looking for something more advanced, I guess it depends on what type of information you're exactly trying to teach? Re: Sex Ed, anatomy, for teenager - OWC Jamie - 08-19-2013 high school biology text ? albeit it was the 60ies but that's where we all got our sex ed. Rather clinical, but touched all the bases including STDs. Re: Sex Ed, anatomy, for teenager - SteveG - 08-19-2013 ![]() Fortunately, one of America's leading educators in that field is still active.
