Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - DinerDave - 08-28-2013 Totally frustrated with Comcast. Tried several times to figure out what I'm paying for and eliminate what I don't want. Several years ago some package we had was being phased out, they moved us to a different pkg. and gave a couple extra channels that the new pkgs did not have as a consolation. We have HD, triple play, etc. every time I go to our local Comcast office, we are somehow between packages, not paying for top level, but but getting more than the next level down. My statement lists a plan that not longer exists. I always get talked into keeping what I have as they try to convince me to just keep the extra channels. I just lived with this until now, and I'm furious again. Speed was purchased by Fox, now it's split into two channels, Foxsports1 and Foxsports2. Problem is most of what I watched on Speed went to #2, which is NOT offered anywhere on Comcast. As I'm poking around the Comcast website looking for a complaint outlet, Live Chat chimes in, I guess he could sense my displeasure with the Channel options and when I started talking about the inaccuracies of The channel lineups on the web site I was told to call customer service they are open 8am to 7pm, (it's now 7:15). Then he quickly logged off. I paying way too much money not to get the channels I want. Dave Re: Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - Filliam H. Muffman - 08-29-2013 I am sorry that what you want to watch is on a FOX channel, and that you have to deal with Scumcast like I do. NBC has stumbled and ignored Formula One this season, but has done at least twice as good a job of promoting and advertising when races are on then when FOX/Speed was doing it previously. Re: Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - olnacl - 08-29-2013 Don't get me even started on Comcrap! Re: Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - eustacetilley - 08-29-2013 Filliam H. Muffman wrote: The Spanish language broadcast network Unimas has shown every F1 race of this season, at least here in the Bay Area. Some have been in near real-time, depending on your time zone. They'll have the next "Gran Premio de Italia" on Sunday, Sept. 8, 0800PDT. Eustace Re: Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - JoeH - 08-29-2013 I totally agree DD as I am in the same Comcr@p service area as you. To add insult, as of today they dropped several channels from the lineup including the one for the This TV. That I will miss as they showed a lot of classic movies on This. And of course not a single penny reduction in the charges. Re: Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - Racer X - 08-29-2013 If Comcast could find a way to do away with customers, they would. We always insist on getting value for our money. We are SO rude. Re: Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - Will Collier - 08-29-2013 I've found the only way to get any action out of Comcast is to embarrass them on Twitter. The phone support is mostly offshore and completely useless (if you don't key in your phone number in the voice mail, you usually get an American call center--but they're still useless), and the B&M "stores" are even more useless. They do get the message when you tell thousands of people how much they suck, in great detail, apparently. Re: Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - pinion - 08-29-2013 I just cancelled my Comcast service. Back to the old antenna for me! Re: Guess Comcast doesn't want to deal with me - Buck - 08-29-2013 I cancelled Comcast TV years ago. I still have a good deal on double play; in essence I get free phone service. Internet is wicked fast, and service has been good. I'll have to live with annual negotiations. Cut the cable last year - pdq - 08-29-2013 Last straw for us was them moving Turner Classic movies to a higher package, leaving us with two hundred channels of sh*t. Was _so_ satisfying to call them up with the news and have them try to beg and discount their way out of it, but I was way past that by then. Anyway, we get around 20 free channels (including ThisTV and MeTV) over the air, and Netflix through the iTV. Went to CenturyLink for internet, and although that was another Comcast-like mess, we finally got it straightened out. Now I think we get ~5 MBit/sec via DSL, which is fast enough for browsing, and generally enough to stream HD TV content through the iTV. Started watching House of Cards this week, and found it considerably more engaging than the reality and competition shows that choke the cable- and air-waves right now. With Vevo and Sky News starting free on iTV this week, I'm starting to feel happier with the future of the boob tube. |
