What kind of connector is this, and where would I find... - PeterB - 09-01-2013 ... a switch for it? Here are the connectors at the ends of the cable (apologies for the crappy photos): http://i.imgur.com/kSXr2pH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/OGbZjsH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ecYvvv2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KNjampZ.jpg ... what I need: an additional cable or two of this type, with these connectors at the ends, and an A/B switch to switch between two inputs using these cables. Preferably cheap, of course. ![]() TiA Re: What kind of connector is this, and where would I find... - The UnDoug - 09-01-2013 Perhaps others will recognize it, but the photos are such poor quality (no offense), that I really can't tell what the connector looks like. Also I prefer to have the pictures load without having to click on links, unless the size is of concern for those in slow connections. Re: What kind of connector is this, and where would I find... - PeterB - 09-01-2013 OK, I'll try to take better photos later today, but I'd have thought those would be good enough. Looks to be 20-pin (two rows of 10) female connectors of some type... and yes, the pics are big enough that I didn't want to directly link, for the sake of those on limited BW connections. Re: What kind of connector is this, and where would I find... - cbelt3 - 09-01-2013 I think it's a 20 pin Displayport connector . What is it identified as and what is it on ? I think it's a 20 pin micro Centronic. Connected to a digital camera on one end, and a video capture device on the other. Yikes, these cables are not cheap... http://www.suntekpc.com/htm-2/cable-dfp-20-pin-male-dfp-20-pin-male-xxx-xxx.htm http://www.amamax.com/6fodfpmice201.html Re: What kind of connector is this, and where would I find... - Filliam H. Muffman - 09-01-2013 I would like a smiley for Need More Info! What does it connect to!?! Edit: beat me to it. It reminds me of a Sony Japanese-only video standard from 20 years ago, sort of the precursor to DVI. This looks like the same connector but it looks like it was discontinued. http://www.suntekpc.com/htm-2/cable-dfp-20-pin-male-dfp-20-pin-male-xxx-xxx.htm ![]() Re: What kind of connector is this, and where would I find... - PeterB - 09-01-2013 Yes, and guys, keep in mind that this is being used for CURRENT equipment... meaning something that is still being manufactured even now. Gahhh... I despise proprietary cables, and what's the chance that someone even makes an A/B switch for this? Re: What kind of connector is this, and where would I find... - Filliam H. Muffman - 09-01-2013 PeterB wrote: Yikes, these cables are not cheap... You still have not said what brand and model of equipment this is for... is it a camera system for a microscope or something similar? Just because a 10 year old camera system is listed by some company as "for sale" does not mean it is "up to date." IIRC, it was one of the higher quality professional standards in 1999, but it has ended up mostly abandoned by the mainstream like ADC was. |
