freeradical makes quite a good pointed point. Long ago, this was written:
"When in evening, ye say, it will be fair weather: For the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be foul weather today; for the sky is red and lowering."
Out of this came the "Red sky at night..." variations.
My personal experience sailing out of SF, is gray, both at daybreak and at dusk.
And watch out for the Potato Patch! That will turn your turnips, whatever the time is, and whatever the sky.

Very nice. You caught the full range of colors throughout the sunset event. The best part of it all is sunsets are FREE entertainment.
